Create Abstract Macro Photos Using LEGO Flowers!
Fun! I really love the shot with the baker! That treat on the end is the perfect detail to sell the photo. And thanks for the shoutout, Ben! I'm having fun with the Adaptalux Studio right now and I have to say this early on, it's so satisfying to be able snake these lights into tight places. It's changed my workflow and has opened up creative possibilities. My shots and review are coming soon so watch out for that!
I can't wait to see what you're able to do with our lighting, looking forward to your insights and what will no doubt be some really cool LEGO photos!
Thankyou Ben great micro video
Thanks for watching!
Never heard of probe lens ! This is amazing. May I ask you what are lights that you are using for the diorama .
You can find them here - www.adaptalux.com
Thanks for this very timely Lego video. In a couple of weeks, we will be moving 150 miles away to be next door to our 11 and 9 year old grandchildren who build high end Lego projects at lightning speed. Maybe Grandpop can share another Lego dimension for their amazing minds to process.
I'm sure they will appreciate some creative photos of their builds, I know I would have loved that as a kid building Lego!
Love this! 👏
Thanks for watching!
What’s the least expensive camera and lens I can buy to make this work really well??
You will need to do your research to find a ballance you're happy with. Better cameras and lenses will get better results with better sensitivity, resolution and features like image stabilisation. The camera and lens setup shown here is a good mid level solution.
Merhaba türkiyeye kargo ile gönderiyormusunuz ve şuanda elinizde varmı
Thank you Ben for this fantastic video on the theme that I love of Lego photos. However, I will have to continue for now with a "classic" macro lens because the cost of this Laowa lens is really very high, even second-hand. That said, you've already made some very beautiful ones in other videos with the lighting possibilities of the Adaptalux studio. Thank you also for introducing me to the Four Bricks Tall chain that I didn't know (@FourBricksTall). So I'm going to focus on Anna's tutorials as well. Thank you again well and see you very soon.
The lens is indeed quite expensive for a niche application, but it does some very unique stuff that is certainly a benefit for Lego photography. Probe lens or not, your lego photography is getting better all the time!
Useful? Unlikely. Interesting? Definitely!
Too much BLA, BLA, BLA, BLA, BLA, BLA....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
What distance would you recommend having between the drop valve and the bowl of water?
Why is the best resolution I can get on this video 144p? Just saying it makes it difficult to see the realisticness of what you're trying to show here. Still a helpful video from listening to your suggestions tho so thank you!!
It's uploaded at 1080p, if you're only getting offered 144p it's something to do with your RUclips player or connection. Seems fine on our end!
@@Adaptalux after reading your comment I just watched the video on my tablet instead of my smartphone and I see you're absolutely correct!!! apparently my Galaxy phone doesn't like RUclips all of a sudden😬 anyways thank you I appreciate your response and I appreciate your video very helpful Thank you!!! I think I'll delete my first comment now thanks again!!
No need, someone else might fine the info helpful if it happens to them :)
Been reading a very interesting book on Iridology by Adam J. Jackson which contains many health related insights, including how the IRIS maps the body and can flag underlying issues - a bit dated but seems fairly thorough and sound on many levels. Otherwise, many more modern titles out there which I've yet to look into but first step is imaging your IRIS. ; )
Check out our newer video on iris photography if it's something you're interested in - ruclips.net/video/6l-z9rZY984/видео.html
Great
'Cid. No disrespect intended.
Hi Ben! Hope you're well? Unfortunately my Raynox 250 doesn't fit on the Z mount lens on my Nikon Z5 so I'll have to get a lens for my D7000 and try that instead. The Photography Show seems a long time ago now doesn't it? 🤨🤨😀😀
It does indeed! Shame about the Lens, it seems to fit most of the lenses I have here but I suppose there will be some outliers!
Yeah, had a flash unit cap, discharge on my thumb... It flew 7m through the air and left a hole the size of a bb in my thumb. Took years to fully heal! 🤣😭
Ouch! Seriously wouldn't recommend opening up flashes for reasons like this!
@@Adaptalux yeah... I was much younger then, and Utube didn't exist, very much suggest shorting out the cap b4 proceeding! I just didn't expect it would have a charge, but I'll tell you what, I never had to question that again! Eh, if you don't explore, you never learn. Teach yourself first, and you can do anything... ✌️🙏
@@Adaptalux I saw within the last couple years a small documentary with SCUBA divers recording video with UV in coral reefs. Been trying to find the same footage on the Utube, but haven't. It is truly fascinating in that they now know many marine species see in UV, and it shows what it might look like to them in some regards... Truly, it's an entirely different world, in different wavelengths... Fascinating. Here's to your gallery growing... 👍
Destiny showing up in my photography feed had me confused for a second. But ask yourself…did you throw enough grenades? Well… Did you???
Never enough grenades!
Fantastic Ben this opens up all sorts of possibilities, never thought of attaching anything to a dedicated macro lens. Keep these coming 👍👍
It's a handy way to get some extra magnification without much effort or expense! Thanks for watching!
Nicely done, Ben. I too use the DCR-on my macro lens for extra reach. Thank you!
Glad to hear I'm not the only one!
I really enjoy all your tutorials. I learn quite a bit from you. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video Ben. Thank you. Now I'm going to have to break my piggy bank again. :)
Morning Ben, another informative show thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching!
New From CANADA Love your photos of the Diecast cars I just started my Channel April 12 2024 and been trying my best at Videos and Photos on my page also my Community Page I print off backdrops for me cars or take them outside for a really cool video or shots Great Video
Gorgeous art! I am an amateur mycologist and photographer. I appreciate these insights. I haven't shot w/ UV yet and am excited to see what I can do. Thanks form Kentucky!
It's fascinating. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun combining your mycology with uv photography!
Hello! Tell me please, the newest lens model (firin) is also good for this thing? Thank you
Thank you, Ben. As always, you rocked it!
awesome many thanks
I've printed an adapter for the front so i can use a ringflash on the front of the lens.
I have this lens and it is A+. I recently purchased the Adaptalux system specifically for this lens! Works perfectly!! If you can afford it, the NOVOFLEX CASTEL-M FOCUSING RAIL RACK (CASTEL-M) works perfectly with this lens. The settings on the rail match the settings on this lens. Even though I have an automated rail, I find using the Castel-M very enjoyable and easy to use. The calibrations for each click of the rail control are integrated into the rail and are set for f5.6 so you need the precise light from the Adaptalux!
Glad to hear you're enjoing the lens in combination with the lighting too! I'll certainly take a look at the rail too.
What is Cookie Monster doing there? 11:32
Great video, nice and tight , thanks
I wish someone would provide a tutorial on the Laowa close up kit - I bought it and HATE IT .... can't get enough light in and the subjects always look the same. Arogon 10-50 kit.
I'll add it to the list to try, it's a bit outside of our usual macro at those magnifications but would be interesting the experiment with.
Hey, if you can't figure it out, you can always send it to me for Christmas xD

@@biancadupont2931 hey, don’t be sexist, I’m also poor haha

As yet I haven't got this system still tying to cobble together enough money to get a system there's the other problem what to get as there are more and more ideas popping into my head the more I watch these videos which are excellent by the way hopefully can purchase soon
Amazing . What is the light used .
Wow! I'm working on a multimedia installation with plants and I was looking up how to do these kinds of pictures and this tutorial was really helpful! Thank you, this is inspiring ☺️
only just found your channel loved it new subscriber time to binge watch
Welcome!
You are not using the grater as a tool. You are using it as a subject.
Disagree, the subject in the final photo is the LEGO miniature, the grater acts as a light modifier, reflector and backdrop all in one.
@@Adaptalux True.
It’s also a guiro.
It might gate the stick down a bit over time!
Amazing ! I love the photos with the Lego figure ! Thank you ! 👍🏽🙏🏽
Thanks for watching!
Waaaaay cool ma man. Always looking for interesting textures at the local thrift store. You're very creative. Thank you sir!
Glad you enjoyed it! Have fun shooting!
Just to be different, a nice piece of Dutch Cheese with holes and a mouse lit from behind of course.
Now I want some edam...
Box Grater, just sayin'
The greatest of the graters.
What am I going to do with my cheese grater you ask. Let my wife grate some cheese and later wash it. Then hide it from her whilst I play abstract photography for as long as I can. Thanks Ben for another great upload..... or do I mean Grate upload?
Maybe it's time to invest in a cheese grater of your own so as to not upset the boss?
Very interesting my camera club will be doing a project using your ideas and any other they come up with. Thank you.
We would love to see what you all come up with. Come and post the results in the community group on Facebook, the link is in the video description!
great video. Looks like I'll be hunting up a cheese grater soon. Thanks for the presentation.
Worth trying other kitchen utensils while you're at it!
Grate job Ben!! Very unique idea. Loved the bokeh balls.
The reflections and bokeh is really lovely but a bit unpredictable! Glad you enjoyed this one and good pun!
i had to laugh... the good old grater brilliant idee
